UCD had a comprehensive victory over YMCA, though they did let in a few late goals. YMCA scored first through Grant Glutz’s powerful turn and shot after four minutes, but UCD were 4-1 up within the quarter of an hour mark. Andrew Meates equalised for the students and a minute later Peter Lynch put them one-up. Meates added his second, and Guy Sarratt scored from a penalty corner to make it 4-1 after 14 minutes. in the 20th minute Glutz pulled one back, but Sarrat netted his second to make it 5-2 at the half. Alex Flynn scored soon after the restart to make it 6-2, before two late YMCA goals made the match seem closer than it was. Ben O’Grady & Tony Brophy scoring for YM. [4]
